Christopher B. Montoya

Compliance Manager, Raiz Federal Credit Union

Since October 2021, Christopher B. Montoya “Chris” has been the Compliance Manager at Raiz Federal Credit Union located in El Paso, Texas. Before joining Raiz, Chris worked as part of the Global Treasury Management Financial Crimes Risk Program team for Wells Fargo Bank. Chris worked in different capacities at the bank from personal banker, small business, administrative assistant, operational risk consultant, and business risk & control associate since April of 2015. Before joining the financial sector, he worked as the Interim Chief Executive Officer/ Chief Operating Officer for a mid-size educational and office supply store along with educational professional development training and travel catering to school districts, city and county government, and small businesses operating in Texas and New Mexico.

Chris obtained his Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in April of 2017. He graduated with honors from the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society. He also obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2010. He was involved in the Business College Council, Hispanic Business Student Association, and American Marketing Association during his undergraduate studies. In 2007, he received his Associate of Arts in Business Administration from El Paso Community College.
Chris’s passion is giving back to the El Paso community. He is a member of the Canutillo Alumni Foundation for Education (CAFÉ), Board of Director for the El Paso Five Points Lions Club, and Board of Director for the El Paso Hotel & Lodging Association. He holds previous Board of Director positions. He was the Board President for the Veterans Non-Profit organization, Advisory Board President for Young Leaders Society, Board of Director for United Way of El Paso County, Board of Director for El Paso ISD Education Foundation, and March of Dimes. He was also involved with the El Paso ISD, Socorro ISD, and Ysleta ISD Partners in Education where he participated as a school Principal for “Day as a Principal” for several years and assisted with several Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) programs.
